The Coliseum is defensibly translated as “enormous”. It’s a unique monument of ancient Roman architecture and culture designed for sanguinary battles of gladiators. Its image has become the symbol of Rome and Italy, which nowadays represents world culture. Its archways and enfilades make tourists amaze grand ambitions of ancient builders and elegance of the giant on the whole.
Montepulciano, the town of wine and cheese-makers, is placed about 40 miles away from Siena, on the top of the hill. First built as an outpost, since XVI century this town gains popularity as a residence of Italian nobles. These nobles are the ones for whom all the stunning palaces and churches edging narrow medieval streets were built. But the main thing Montepulciano is famous for all over the world – is the local wine called “Nobile di Montepulciano”. From the top of the town council tower, you can see wonderful view of Tuscany vineyards that give raw stuff to the local wine-makers for their wineries.
Trevi Fountain is an expressional statuary group in the center of Rome, which has become one of its symbols. Every day thousands of tourists admire its splendor, flecks of sunlight in clean water and coins down below. Coins of all countries and continents symbolize our love to Rome and desire to come back again and again. Neptune, cresting the Fountain, sharply observes urban life, graciously accepting overall admiration.
Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, located in the heart of Florence, was built in the distinctive style of the Quattrocento in white and green marble. Presenting the art of Florentine artists, famous throughout the world, the structure of the cathedral appeared light and airy. Its décor looks so delicate and fragile that it seems as if the building is constructed of fragile porcelain.

Entry to this magnificent monument of architecture is free of charge since the cathedral is functioning, having regular services. The official website includes the schedule of masses http://www.duomofirenze.it/attivita/liturgical.htm. They are free to attend, but one should take care of the appropriate appearance, in particular, women are advised to have knee length skirts and cover shoulders.

You will need to buy tickets to visit the museum, the Baptistery, and to climb the observation deck of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. It offers a stunning view of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. To get to the observation deck on the dome, however, the magnificent view is definitely worth the effort.

The interior of the cathedral has retained the entourage of the Early Renaissance and it surely is worth all of the visitors’ attention. For more than 500 years, the time here moves its own way, because of its unusual clock ticking: the clock’s hand moves in the opposite direction.
