“The red-brick city”, Bologna, is the European education capital – here the first university of Europe was built and is still working. And it is also an Italian cooking capital that gave “Bolognese” sauce to the world. Bologna has a wonderfully intact medieval architecture: 12 gates of the city walls lead to the central square, surrounded by the magnificent palazzo and basilicas, through the narrow streets passing by churches and palaces with notched walls and towers, ancient houses and arcades. Dante’s street remained safe very well and continues living its active and vivid life.
