Lisbon – the most western capital in Europe, it is almost protruding into the Atlantic. Built in the hilly area, the city is speckled with narrow streets laying at quite a steep angle that sometimes turn stairways. The city shows different periods separating them by the borders of major quarters. Tourists listen to enchanting sound of fado, the traditional romance songs, that are sang at the streets of the city. The ancient quarter of Alfama, that borders the castle, is full of the medieval spirit. In the new district, built in modern style, there is the biggest oceanarium in Europe. Wonderful climate and original cuisine prevailing seafood, numerous sights – that all make Lisbon an excellent place for recreation.
