Zanzibar is a picturesque city situated on the island of the same name in Tanzania. At one time it was a large center of slave-trading on the East African coast and the capital of Arab sultans. That’s why there are lots of specific buildings, first of all, labyrinths of living quarters with blank walls and carved gates; and courts, gardens and citizens living at the back of them. Tourists can visit amazing mosques, castles and bastilles, which kept the city against the enemy.
